Asim Sharif

I design apps, and then I build them in code. I'm a product designer and design engineer (design + code) in Lahore. For three years I've designed apps in all kinds of industries. Whatever you're building, the way I work stays the same.

In my day job I design software for a car-loan company, and I take care of its design system. In my own time I build my own projects. Everything you see below is real, working software, not just pictures of it.

Product Lab

I built two products that I wished already existed. I designed them, coded them, and put them online. Both are free to use. Please try them.

Why I built them

As a designer, I often had twenty tabs open just to understand one UX law. Research papers, blog posts that were only half right, and tools spread all over. Nothing was in one place, and I could not trust all of it. So I built the pages I wished I had. This is how I work: I find the problem, build a clear fix, and ship it.

About me

I studied physics before design. It taught me to check the facts first, and to build a strong structure before I make things look nice. I still work this way today.

In my day job I design car-loan and leasing software at NETSOL Technologies, and I take care of the design system the whole team uses. In my own time I work with founders in the US and the UK on all kinds of products. The industry is never the point for me. Clear, honest design works everywhere.

Right now I'm looking for a senior design role in the Gulf. I'm also building my own small studio, called Method. The idea is simple: get the system right first, and the rest becomes easy.
